This has been happening on and off the last few months but it was so strange i decided to not say anything and just keep an eye on it and verify it before i posted. for some reason, intermittently during my games, i have caught huge discrepancies in the computer's unit count and then am being penalized income, usually in the neighborhood of it showing more than twice the number of units i actually have. for instance in one of my current games, the computer's showing i have more than twice the number of bombers i actually have, so of course i'm being penalized the maintenance costs. this is really screwing up my income. what the hell's going on?

This is a glitch/bug. [Glitch in that it self corrects at the start of the turn / bug in that it is a persistent problem common to all players due to a programming error]. If you look at the unit count at the start of your turn, it will be accurate. As you begin moving units around, you will notice the unit count increasing. This shouldn't happen but it does, is documented, and is on the developer's 'to fix ' list. Your income is not being affected - if you look, you will see there is a wild discrepancy between the posted values in the tab, and what the actual income is for your turn (which is correct).

It happens whenever you move units into a city. If you move those same units into a city, and then into another city (on the same turn), then you'll see those numbers go up even more. But, yeah, the important thing is that the game resets itself on the new turn, so those numbers do not reflect what actually happens to you.
