This makes me so sad when you take in consideration my profession (history). Monarchs are not dictators. Dictators are people whom Roman Senate elected to rule Rome in time of crisis, their original profession doesn't matter, but they were usually generals, like Julius Caesar. Close word to describe leaders you're talking about would be greek word 'tyrant'.

Also mistake you made: Joseph Dzhugashvily was Georgian, not Jewish (nazis declare everyone jewish so they can attack them). There are new evidences that claim Joseph Dzhugashvily was maybe Ossetian, because Georgia had nationalist/georgification policies as they found Joseph's surname was probably 'Dzhogaev' which is pure Ossetian and not Georgian. Ossetians are Iranian(persian) ethnic group. But until that research is over, Stalin is considered Georgian, not Russian, not Jewish. Ossetian theory could be Georgian plot to deny Stalin because West dislike him. Stalin was elected as General-Secretary of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1924. Therefore cannot be classified as 'dictator' because then we can classify American President to be dictator if we ignore people elected them. Bolsheviks had democracy within party and it was impossible for one man to rule without majority bolsheviks approval. Communist party had hundred of committees, councils and secretariats thus decentralizing power in the hands of majority party members and no one could do anything without approval of few committees (part why administration and economics were so complicated in the USSR which led to collapse). Bolsheviks are guilty for sabotaging Russian state in WWI, creating strikes during WWI, for killing Emperor of Russia, politicians and civilians, for banning multi-party politics and elections. But they didn't had dictators, but power-sharing. Nazi Party tried putsch to get power just like Bolsheviks and Italian fascists did, but it failed. They did won by elections 10 years later, but after that banned other parties and imposed totalitarian rule. Something we are afraid in Russian Federation if Communist Party of Russian Federation win so we vote for United Russia en-masse.
