New year coming up with new admins, new ideas, new rules and maybe even new mods?

I'll just get straight to the point. David said there will be a lot of changes to the rules and trying to make a really big change with all the toxicity going on in the game.

An idea came to mind was a new 'clean slate' policy or in this case something similar to an 'Ex Post Facto Law' could take initiative in the upcoming year. Where everyone who broke any of the rules in the past(which is basically 100% of AW) will now strictly have to follow the rules from now on. And of course if people break the rules now there should be consequences(without bias).

I thought this might help with the toxicity problem. It might make people more hesitant to harass someone.

The only reason I suggested this is because I feel the AtWar Rulebook isn't taken seriously. Since we all know people don't normally get banned or muted for verbal harassment. If everyone was on the same page and we officially knew that actions are finally taking place it might make everyone a little nicer.

This is just an idea up for discussion. Correct me if i'm wrong. I don't even know if I used the right terms, but I hope you guys get where i'm coming from.
Let me know what you guys think.

No verbal harassment please.

Thanks guys

As i said a serious reform of the mod team is a necessity.
It's not the person but the way they are elected.

Inactive mod should be all demoted since they don't contribute to the game at all.

Dave should really look into the current mods to select the one that are beyond quarrels / reproches and select the other that deserve to be elected (Sascha and the empirezz are seriously respected by all and actually useful to this game, when to the contrary sos and google are jokes, sorry guys but u're both lame + my boy Nero would MAGA)

Beside that rules just need to be more visible cause most players don't check the forum and that's where they are.

This is essentially what is happening now. I'm encouraging our mods to enforce the rules more strictly, and they are beginning to do so. And already I've heard some complaints from players about this... saying things like "but I was able to do this for the last X months and nobody said anything", etc etc. Well, just because you got away with it before, does NOT mean you're free to do it from now on.

I'm not interested in punishing people for breaking rules in the past, as long as they stop breaking the rules now.

And by the way, the rules are nothing new. They are the same rules that have been here for a long time. Although we *might* make some small changes here or there, we haven't actually made any rule changes so far. (For example, the rules say something about keeping conversations PG-13... we probably need to make that "R" or take it out altogether, since this community will never be PG-13. But other than that, I think the rules we have already are good.)

It's just a hollow speech as long as u don't reform the mod team, since the legitimacy of their actions is contested by years of bad habits

A fresh air is needed

Let's keep to the topic under discussion. Which I think is an idea worthy of consideration btw.

What rules exactly will be enforced more strictly though?

And more specifically: will the rule against alternate accounts be enforced? Then I'd have to go on a Tor browser everytime I'd want to start a 2v2 cw without a 3rd on.

Also @David please notice my thread on the upgrades being too expensive for newbies in the general suggestions forum.

I do think it's time that we explore a 2v2 CW possibility simply out of convenience, and more so because of what you brought up. Would surely make things a whole lot easier

I don't think starting over is the solution. Picking new mods correctly is a complicated process that takes time, especially when it would just be Dave recruiting at first. Some of the mods that were currently have are trustworthy, in my opinion. These mods have already proven themselves to be trustworthy, so they shouldn't have to go through the recruitment process again. I do agree on that inactive mods should be dismissed.

Isn't that European Law? The good kind , Anglo-saxon Law lies on basis looking into the past experience in order to make decision for current situation. Let's hope new owner abids to Europe's.

You could find an example of literally everyone breaking a rule in the past. Why not think in the present going forward?
