My previous and present clans advertises disgrace over people who plays RP. I've always tried to avoid joining one for obvious reasons: Consumes too much time and less SP rewards. But the question remains. Why?

1. The map is very poorly designed. And that's ignoring the borders. 2. Teaches barely any skill

Its not about poor design... Its about the SP farm that makes those people with skills compared to rank 5/6 when they actually are rank 9/10 Because of this ''sp farm'', people leave their mid-games just to get more SP. Because of this alot but ALOT of worldgames have been ruined, finally after waiting maybe 10/15mins to get a decent filled worldgame and just in 2 sec ruined. And it doesn't really show any skill how to play in low-funded countries, its just about SPAM SPAM SPAM troops.. no strategy at all, lets not even start about the allyfagging around there. I noticed the lowest income an country has in AFRICA is 78... It actually shows how to make crazy wall skills, thats decent but thats maybe all of it? The rules to have ''only 1 country'' ''no spread'' is beyond retarded though. This is why I think people don't like them. Hope this answered your question.

(Dont quote me tunder, you lost that argument.) RP is actually a good map, you can learn a lot by playing it. Walls, macro management, good usage of units, diplomacy, etc. But people were jealous because you earn lots of SP by playing, so the mods (or should I just point ONE MOD, because he made it arbitrary? ) reduced the SP multiplier to 50%. But indeed, in RP you learn reinforcements management, but this does not help you in the bored "competitive" europe+ 3vs3 where (according to they) only play PD and have cost-efficiently skills is the only thing who matter. Even the tradicional east picks (Ukraine, turkey) have their own variation of PD. RPers have more sense of reinforcements, they actually buy bombers, tanks, marines, submarines, helicopters, sentry, without matter the cost or the strategy.... but in europe+ where the funds are set at 10k, this does not help much the economy, providing disastrous results. And of course, RP's gameplay does not fit with Europe+ ones. This is why most ( or all) "competitive" clans does not accept any player who play or keep playing RP....

Clovis... what are you talking about? Those aren't the Rp'ers I've met the 20 times I rapped them in their own game.... They completely lack any reinforcement management skill. They just spam a BIG stack and attack with it. There are really really really few players that have used stealths or submarines (they always get really scared when they realize I've sent them tons of stealths and taken their cities). Those stacks lack any strategy at all, it's just a mix of full tanks with nothing to defend them (which tanks are fucking op, even their defense it really high). If RP had half the income it has, no one would play it cause they lack any skills when it comes to manage money. They have no sense of strategy at all.

First of all, I don't care if they play RP... I mean, i dont have anything against them. They were no rank 3 players, nor was it their first RP... I admit not ALL the RP'ers are that noob as i stated, but the great majority is (roughly 90%). Opi has made a nice improvement, I already know about it. I'm not questioning the capability of RP'ers to improve but their lack of interest in improving. Some of them realize AtWar is more than just RP and actually try to learn but most of the RP'ers don't care about it. I personally asked them about this matter and they literally told me: "I don't care about skills". The RP'ers that actually move on and improve are really few exceptions to this rule. I repeat, I respect their opinion and their wish of not improving. The only thing in which that annoys me is that they allyfag, gangbang you and then behave all cocky about having beaten you on a 4 vs 1 when they lack any possible skill.

Like tunder's signature, even RP'ers dont buy your shit anymore. So please stop talking for them or about them. You are obviously trying to state a point here with ''RP is not noob, look at me im ''good (as you call yourself) and I play it'' I have to admit, I always liked to play a megasized worldgame, perfect example is RP. with good 0834902384 countries but the problem are the units + the unrealistic incomes. That is what is killing the sense of the well created map for me. Also with megasized worldgame I mean play with the cities which are already there but only the countries splitten in more. Not adding 1000+ cities more with 8 mil/inf to get SP.

I haven't said that allyfagging isn't "valid", the thing that annoys me is that they get all cocky afterwards beating someone in a 4 vs 1, which is shameful. The only thing they learn in RP is to fear high ranks cause they have more skills than the average RP'er.... oh and they also learn to spam units all around their land in order to make a clusterfuck of walls and stack their cap with 100 bunkers and believe themselves untouchable cause of that I'm not sure if that statement is totally true... I have acepted RP'ers and taught them some basics about 3 vs 3.... idk if someone else has too... I have never bullied any RP'er besides of the fact that i totally beat him... Poeple tend to get nervous when they see any RP'er in their team cause they might lose or cause they think he doesnt care about skills, which is true in 90% times. I'm sorry for that guy but there's nothing you can do about it... people aren't that much respectful around. I've never backed down anyone that wants to learn or improve. Don't generalize like that, there's always exceptions for everything. Thing is that many suposed to be pro players take the competition really serious, that's all. Or they are just too selfish and lazy to teach anyone else.

You missed a little bit the point in this issue. Let me try to expose some points. AW has a fundamental pillar, which is the SP system and the upgrades (and ranks, that do not really matter) that are related to them. This is not a "pay to win" but a "collect SP and buy upgrades" game. Player, up to a certain level are eager to collect SP and be able to improve the units that they are managing as a general. Actually very understandable, that a player wants to improve the material for war. Right? Boosted SP maps/scenarios have become a problem to the very logic of this "collect SP and buy upgrades" mechanism in many ways. Players can rank 0-10 (and buy all upgrades) in less than 4 months and it becomes an unfair competition for upgrades. A collateral effect of this fast ranking up is that players get bored faster from the game (like having a cheat of a game, you simply lose interest). There are limited upgrades to this game and players should evolve to get them. Thus, the decision was taken to reduce to a maximum the SP shortcuts... in order to maintain a bit the competitive logic of acquiring upgrades. Last but not least, SP nerfs were not arbitrarily applied by one Mod. They were discussed and the decision was taken on approximatijons to SP retribution on WorldGames. In my personal opinion, not applying SP nerfs to certain maps/scenarios would have meant 3 things: (a) dismiss completely the SP-upgrades logic, (b) legitimize other SP farming maps/scenarios/games and (c) support the crowding-out of other maps that have less SP retribution. The consequences would have been very negative. For a short while, there was a discussion on limiting the map-creation tools (opportunities) to avoid the creation of SP (units, cities, income, reinforcements, etc.) boosted maps... which would have been disastrous for the map-making community and the creativity and appeal of AW. Another discussion was about banning RP/UN/WG50k games... also not a solution. Right? SP nerfs (and eventual boosts) are just excellent... subject to improvements, ofc.

Yes we would revolt if you took away those tools, and deleting RP is maybe a solution lol ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- anyways separate from what columna is talking about, I dislike RP because of these reasons: 1. The map itself is poorly executed and lacks basic map making skills, this is why the map is hated by map makers, not necessarily out of jealousy but instead the fact that the map is sloppy and is way unbalanced. For example, the income of German regions is so high and the reinforcement count is high also, The income is 6856 and the reinforcement count is 92, to put that into perspective, the overall cost of buying all the regions of germany is well over 50k, which is the max starting funds for maps, that is a bit insane. This is also representative of most of europe and the map, massive amount of income and reinforcements, and a city spam that just looks like it was pooped out in 15 minutes and had no thought. 2. Moving past the map flaws itself the problem is the kind of gaming it has and the rules that players are forced to follow. Rules such as justifying war in chat, limiting wars to turn 4, and not allowing "spreading" are parts of the game that limit the parts of the game that make atwar interesting, while these rules arent hard to follow most of the time, things like justifying wars are so vague and the community of players always gets to decide if you can war someone who is trolling you as a player, its just a rather broken rule system. 3. The worst part overall is the community that sprouts from RP. Players sit there all game doing nothing but chatting and allying everyone, then at once they all declare war on 1 person just for fun but its not against any rules since no one is left to call them rogue, its a serious issue that RP is impossible to play unless you ally fag with them or bring your own friends to help you. This is the biggest reason why I find RP a plague to atwar. 4. My final reasoning is the fact that RP players do not cross over into other aspects of atwar. Others may try to deny it, but no RP players have ever been able to adapt to other game plays, in particular 3v3s and competitive team scenarios, they simply cant compete with different styles. RP itself is just tank spamming and not walling or planning, something necessary for playing any other game. Overall RP itself isnt the worst map or idea, but the way that it has been used by players and the fact that it encourages ally fagging and ignoring of basic skills make the map unbearable and why it is criticized all the time on the forums

You see now the reason for which I rather not start my own clan?? I'd need 20 mods in order to defend it nicely enough... and both admins probably... and even like that I'd get complains, trolls or just different kind of headaches. Bla, better to sit back, relax and just enjoy yourself with others wasting their time with useless bullshit. I respect your opinion but I have mine as I stated before, I've played a few rp myself and I've seen how it works. It's a bit pathetic in strategy matters but I guess it's natural that not everyone cares about skills. It's just a game. Anyway, you can't possibly disagree with what columna said, the map obviously has it's defects, etc. As the majority is annoyed with RP, for the reasons stated, which happen to be mainly true facts, they will get easily annoyed by someone that tries to contribute to the RP side. It's brave of you but won't change much... if competitive maps are like heaven, RP is hell, the complete opposite. It might have it's own fun and it's own laughs, even surprises but when it comes to strategy, it lacks everything.

I like roleplay! Yea well.. i like the idea. The peoblem is that the players who join this are kinda strange. They even forget that this is a war game. But even then rp is a good idea and the map dusnt look bad. Infact the sp nerf made it better since now its not a farm map anymore. But well its not really competent atwar ofc.
