Hi all I have just spent a few days updating this map. For those of you that don't know the map it is a RP map based upon the world map with the extra cities and a few more suprises. It is based on the RL international unions of the world (some were moved for better game play). There are ten unions and they can be easily found next to their labels on the map (if you zoom out a little) The unions are the strongest cities in the map that offer missiles and unique stealth units. This is an ideal map to play when you have 10 good players on a slow day and want a good fast and fun game. I have upped eco and cities to make it a decent 10 - 20 person RP map too. Strategies: there are two ways to play the map: #1: 10 players get a union each. They cost about 37k so it is a 50k map ideally, but if you want to try get a country next to the unions and slowly conquer them that is an option. but this will cost time and you might fall behind in expansion. A 10 player game can start with up to 5 countries each just as long as people don't spread. #2: 10+ players - I would recc only one city each and this becomes a matter of either diplomacy or trying to fight to get control of the unions. I must admit one guy almost conquered my union by taking a small country next to it while testing the map out earlier, so it is possible. It is basically a FFA civil war, and I only reccommend that option for players that want a challenge. I have updated the map by giving the air units and missiles greater range, making it a faster game and a little more realistic, as much as the game will allow. I have added oil rigs to the oceans and included some cities on the Union countries to be outside of the union and thus aid expanding quicker. I have also added extra cities and a new union (CAA) So it is somewhere between the world map and the RP maps we all play and love so much. Reference: the unions are as follows: Africa Union : Central Africa Republic Asian Australian Union : Darwin Central American Alliance: SE Mexico (next to Cuba) European Union: Brussels Eurasion Union (Russia) : Moscow East Asia Alliance (China) : Liaoning (next to North Korea) Middle East Union: North of Saudi Arabia South Asian Union: Nepal Union of South America: Amazon Jungle United States of America: next to New York Please let me know of anything you may wish to add to the map or could suggest. I have tried not make too many units as I find this tedious in a stressful game endlessly looking through a long list of units, I have made it streamlined and fluid but still with good balance. the beauty of this particular map is that even Africa, Australia and South America now has a chance to put up a good solid fight without too much effort. I am not sure whether Africa, Australia, and South America being able to put up a good solid fight is a good thing, or a serious mistake. Doesn't making all areas of the world balanced against each other seriously undermine the variability of the map?

Who said anything about sacrificing balance? Lump the three underpowered region into one player. Or give that player cheaper units. Maybe turn 1 scenario units? Alternately, edit the positioning of the international union cities to make it easier for the other 7 to fight each other more often than the underpowered faction. Perhaps take the 3 out altogether and put the land under another player to properly balance the other 7 players. etc. etc... There are more ways to make a balanced scenario out of an unbalanced map than there are fingers on my hand.

Hi guys thanks for the informative feedback - gives me some food for thought. As far as unions strength and balances go, there is no doubt that super powers have higher value parcels around them so they still have that advantage, but I will add a couple of more eco opportunities for them tonight after taking your comments into account. The super powers in this map are obviously USA RUSSIA CHINA and EU. These unions have special forces units that are the strongest in the game. They also have long range missiles with amazing range, where all the other unions only have shorter ranged missiles. The super powers also have a better stealth submarine and stronger jet fighters and stealth bombers. So when I said other continents are more balanced I meant they are generally easier to play and more fun, I will be adding more bits slowly to the map but i am kinda happy with the bare bone skeleton of it. Some further info regarding the units: special ground stealth units unique to each union include : SAS, Special forces, Ghurka, Middle East soldiers and Jungle Brothers. Heavy Tanks have transport ability upto 4 units Added a transport truck too for upto 10 units As i said I will continue to improve the map and add more to it as i get time, but glad I am getting it somewhere now. Added more states to Canada and India and will eventually do same for Germany UK, France Spain etc as I go along to give it more 20 player options. Yeah I agree Rankist Africa and South America def have that going for them where eco lacks, Central America and Australian Asia are prob the most challenging to play in that aspect. UPDATES: added US Navy Seals as unique unit to USA. Subs can now transport all transportable ground units. Helicopter can now transport a couple units too. Made Sea mines, missiles and bunker cheaper. Added substantial eco around the super powers

The weaker unions still get a stealth unit but it is weaker than the other ones the strength of each ground stealth unit is by order : SAS EU -- SEALS USA--- SPECIAL FORCES CHINA & RUSSIA --- GHURKA NEPAL----- MIDDLE EAST SOLDIERS and JUNGLE BROTHERS pretty much equal I will be adding a few decent other options for the civil war /non union countries, my main goal here is just not to clog too much option and make what is there count. Will def be coming back to add alot more to this map , double the eco when I am able to remap the countries and subdivide them more to get it closer to the rp maps, thus making civil wars more enduring. SO far apart from the unions Ive only added Canadian states and Tibet, along with alot of oil rigs and a few diamond mines. Got a full house in the game atm and already found first test was a lack of space and options, although at first it seems quaint when alot of players are in same area it def helps having the extra provinces when there are 20 players, its a good fast game for 10 atm but i just need to improve it now i think to be a better 20 player game, so thanks to all who helped me test it upto now, Time to get mapping soon again, its the one part I find most frustrating, but getting used to it. cheers.

Oh I also added Nevada State and divided India slightly so thats 15 new provinces / map alterations as such. Next i will be improving Europe and Japan, then alter Russia and China & South America slightly (because they so big already the just need a couple implementations to give them a couple more provinces) then its down to Middle East and then to focus on eco really for the rest and adding a few more troops for non - unions. One thing to keep in mind is that all countries can buy a heavy tank which is prob best overall apart from special forces. I will post update again here in a couple of weeks once done.

Another alteration I made that I forgot to mention was that super powers (EU RUSSIA CHINA USA) have 3 external bases where all the other unions / alliances now only have 2

UPDATE: heavy tanks now transportable, allowed marines to be built, added more islands by Central America, Spain and protugal started dividing eu countries up into bigger states, will add more states to USA RUSSIA etc eventually too, might unpublish the map in meantime as it is messing up peoples games

I will be adding them once i done map alterations, will be adding usual things we are used to using like chengdu fighters, eurofighters etc for the other nations, but they might be slightly weaker than the union / alliances versions. Am busy upping the major countries first. Then I can comeback and add extra units / intelligence / missiles. Another point i considered today was making a few more external optional picks that dont come with the capital so that in a game of 20 players the alliances at least have some other picks when everyone else has 3+ picks. Unlike the UNIONS map they are going to be close to their regions and not be silly overpowered. Any ideas welcome

UPDATE: this map is now unpublished and unable to play until version 2 comes out with a decent mapping and the changes mentioned above. Thank You for your input and for playing this map. I have taken every bit in and made heavy tanks transportable and will be adding unique units to specific regions, once I have improved the basic map and cities. To the two current games currently being played on this map, I am sorry if the borders change while I edit it, the cities will remain the same and nothing should alter the game itself other than looking a bit strange. I apologise for this and hope you return on the update and enjoy the changes. cheers.

SAS EU -- SEALS USA--- SPECIAL FORCES Eurasian Union (Russia) & East Asian Alliance (China) --- GHURKA NEPAL----- MIDDLE EAST SOLDIERS and JUNGLE BROTHERS pretty much equal Jungle Brothers are a shared unit by: Asian-Australian Alliance, Africa, South America and Central American Alliance just a note in order to make heavy tanks transportable they can no longer transport any troops, but thats what the truck and air is for and helicopters now can transport all transportable units not just special forces units.

Still regarding the heavy tanks being transportable, with them being transportable by helicopters is quite the koo... once i done all the borders I am looking forward to implementing the new cities and eco along with the unique units. I will also most likely eventually make a clone of the map without the unions to be used for normal rp.

I am glad that you have found an outlet for your freedom of expression . Considering this map is under construction and also considering the fact that it is actually unpublished at the present I wonder where you played it recently to be such a critic. I am at present, if you have learnt to read yet, changing the borders and the way it is going it prob has more provinces than the current Rp maps as I am basing it on them. Unfort I dont have as much time as I would like to have this done already but it is a project. By all means play whatever maps you want. But I do fail to see where you have the right to insult other peoples hard work. By all means make a better map and learn to read too before you want to act a big man on a forum.
