I would be so powerful Ivan and Amok would make hate topics about me, then get locked, muted and banned in a dungeon to work on html5 24 hours a day.

Just understand the precedent that is set when topics or posts are removed / deleted, as long as it is a consistent approach to dealing with the forum I will have no complaints. where the problem lies at the moment is in the selective approach that is taken, it is wrong that a topic with posts that are critical of moderators and or friends actions are deleted but others where regular players views or actions are criticized remain up. That said it is not a huge issue overall imo, personally though I am against censorship of any forum after all it is a place to debate thoughts and inevitably someone will oppose your views.

I for one fully oppose the loss of data. Locking should have been the course of action. There was 5 whole pages of valuable discussion, no matter who disagrees with the information displayed. Even blocking the offender's access to the forums would be better, as then the data itself wouldn't be lost.

Though, one word posts or someone just posting an emoticon are completely worthless. I'd delete those if it accomplished anything.

As I implied if that is the case then they will do this for all future threads and ideally for older threads (although being fair the latter is an unrealistic request.)

on a side note if mapmakers must give reasoning to the community regarding banlists (which I agree with) then logically the same transparency regarding removal of posts/threads can be expected from the moderation team. Cthulu gave a brief reason, however I don't personally think it warranted the removal of content in its entirety some of which was useful in expanding the debate.

I guess it's all been said here... or not.
I think of threads just like pictures. You may remember the scene and some details for a while, maybe not for too long, but you can look again at the picture whenever you want and remind everything again. If you delete it, you're deleting part of your memory. Even if a thread goes off topic, even if people are insulting each other, even if you feel like banning all those retarded faggots that are posting words with no sense at all... the worst thing you can do is delete it because there's information in there that might be nice to read again, remember and think about it. Even if it's just for the laughs or to remember some mistake but it's always nice to see that you've got that thing over there and you can reach it again if you want. Does any one like getting his memory removed away? I don't think so. We all like to go back in time and remember the old times and what we did, we've got ourselves the best example with this old tb system nostalgia. Would anyone be happy to know that those old tb system threads got removed?

Say yes to the protection of threads and our memories!

Strongly agree with the people who are against deleting threads.I am against all data loss, as previously stated. There is not one reason to delete a thread, that has any kind of substance in it, wether you agree with whats in it or not.Locking seems like a better alternative if a thread is going out of hand.Moreso i feel personally disrespected, when a thread i spent energy and time contributing to, gets deleted.Wether its a mod deleting waffels post, or croat deleting his own thread, the outcome is the same.I feel like im slaped in the face.I might stop posting alltogether.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is an abuse of powers the terminology is a bit strong there, certainly though it is a questionable decision especially given that clearly the moderators do not fully agree on the action taken (Desu's post here).

We have to take on face value what the clan in question is saying is their reason for the non-continuation of cws, like it or not we cannot force them to continue just in the same way that we cannot force people to play particular game-types within AW. This is much a fault of the cw system BLOODY COMPETENCE. has been detremental to the game for 3 years now.

It saddens me that a moderator is the leader of the clan in question, one would think that they would embrace the new era of continuous clan wars and development of the competition rather than being how they appear to have been. Imo winning or losing is not really that important in the current CW market but driving activity and in turn innovation, new interested players is. You would think someone in Cthulu who suggests that he is a great player and teacher (cthulus gauntlet) would want to be at the forefront of this development. As I said though, regardless of what we think we have to take their word since it cannot be proven either way.

btw randomly I decided to record of most of the conversation from the deleted thread, maybe I have a sixth sense or something as I have never done that before, how strange it would be for that particular thread. There is a reason I took it, but not wanting to be purged I will refrain from sharing it here.

Mods can delete any thread/post. This is a power I believe is necessary for clearing the forum of advertisement bots and general spam.

It got deleted because I guess he didn't like the way it was about him and his clan. I mean we see so much shit/complain threads about several people or things and most of them dont get deleted. But now its about one of them they immidiatly delete? Its abuse of powers... and thats mostly all I have seen coming from that specific person. I get the clan is pretty butthurt about that thread, but only because they ''can be nice people'' isnt a reason to ignore the facts that it is lame as fck what they are doing and then after all denying it.

When did I say I didn't point at u guys in this post?
You guys complained about how all other clans did and how that justified what you guys do it now. I said its not about your clan its about all of the clans. And I said '' I GUESS HE DIDNT LIKE '' which states on an opinion. None of you guys believed me after I said its not about your clan. So what is exactly the problem? if i say it or not, its up to you if you wether you believe it or not.
