A lot of people in 2013 (including myself). Was there a big marketing change of some sorts, or is this just a coincidence from years before (or perhaps justs simply the lack of votes from people who have not seen this post and/or do not use forum)>

That was the year the map editor came out and they got on kongregate.

Five years ago in 2011, when I was 14, I remember Sificvoid and HeyI talking me out of my edgy depression at the time, with the former explaining to me how truly finite and infinite the universe can be, relative to the eye of the beholder. His exact words that I shall never forget "The universe is but 10% what you can see with your very eyes; what you can touch, and feel. The other 90% is what you do with that information; What you take out of it; What you make of it".

Around that same year, That Feel transgressed into the first incarnation of SRB by Vafika and Vasilisk, and we had a tight-knit group of /int/ edge-masters spending too much time playing a browser game, though they provided invaluable feedback and dedication nonetheless. Quite a tragedy what happened there, and where they are now. Perhaps things would have went differently if we had all just been a little older.

2010. I remember joining on the tenth of December, at 5:45 PM. How do I remember that? I have absolutely no idea. I've gone through a few accounts since then, some having been deleted by myself in a feeble attempt to never come here again, but I always get drawn back for brief moments every time. Around the time I joined, the world map still had no country divisions, moderators weren't a thing, Coalitions were but rumours, and the lobby needed a face-lift. That was half a decade ago, already.

I remember making a few eternal friends on this game, some I'm still in contact with to this very moment. Perhaps there's my reasoning for feeling very little attachment to this game these days, they're mostly gone (Besides Tunder, everyone's favorite NEET Mexican), and most of you I barely know.

There was many a time where Ivan showed true care and love for this community in a plethora of ways. When I was younger, I truly neglected this and continued to argue with him like a spoiled brat for an ungodly reason I've forgotten throughout the passage of time, and, as always, I wish I hadn't. Even though the admins take many millenia to update this game or respond to you, still treat them with respect and dignity, and make damn sure not to make an entire coalition of clans to show defective support against the contrary.

Speaking of an evil coalition of clans, I remember SRB garnering the support of many, including myself and my three clans at the time, to rally against the admins "oppressive regime", back in late 2011 I believe. Maybe it was 2012. Well, as you can see by SRB being nothing but ghosts, and I myself as a rarely-recurring player here, things didn't work out too well, we made asses of ourselves, and those in SRB turned out to just really be fucking with everyone for the lulz, whether or not they had true intentions outside of that is a mystery to me. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but as always, I will never really understand why they do what they did, as I still have yet to understand the mindset of shitposters in general.

---

That's all I've got for now, tune in next week for more exciting adventures in the land of my (most likely biased and wrong) memory and experiences on Afterwind AtWar! But srsly, share some stories, too. Doesn't matter how insignificant or recent they are. Chronicle your experience here.

In 2014, me and Tunder were to make a custom fantasy Pangaea map with a few other cartographers- they all shat out, and we ended up trying to finish the project by ourselves. This happened with a few other maps we were making, and eventually it got to the point where I stopped trying to make maps entirely. Maybe one day I'll try again.

For a while, in 2013, I was in Inglorious Basterds per Columna Durruti's invitation. I honestly quite enjoyed my stay there- the people were nice, and I formed a friendship with Columna. This was right after the dissolution of my own clan and SRB, so it felt nice having a new group of people to hang around with the weren't judgmental on the matter. I remember spending a couple hours a day talking with Columna about my own problems at the time (I was extremely troubled for the longest time, if that wasn't common knowledge here already), and as I've always admitted, Afterwind helped me feel like I was a part of something, or rather, I had people to talk to, so that I wasn't so lonely. Maybe I ruined it for myself, or maybe it was a myriad of different reasons, but eventually, I met Tunder. Columna and Tunder rarely got along on any subject, if ever. I don't remember the exact reason, but there was an issue that I agreed with Tunder on, and it created a fissure between me and IB/CD, one that never really healed. I grew into a different person than he-- or Tunder-- would have ever preferred. But that part the echoes the most, is that even now, three years later, the supposed neo-nazi/bigot that is Tunder, still talks to me and considers me a friend, even though I'm so radically different than him. I'm sorry, Columna Durruti, I really wish it could've been different, but nevertheless, thank you for what you did for me.

There was a time, when coalitions first were implemented into the game, that I and another newcomer Alexxxi joined a small clan called "Gosutoripazu", in very early 2011. We didn't have a strong connection with TheVoyagedGhost or anyone else in the clan, we merely both joined to say we were in a clan, pretty much. I got to know Alexxxi a little better over time-- he's a British Columbian genius, for the most part-- and we both eventually decided to make our own clan, after scraping the SP together to do so. I've always been obsessed with Final Fantasy X, so at the time, it was a no-brainer that I must dub it the "Zanarkand Abes". It was just us, for quite some time, until I convinced other people to join in. I always prided my clan on being a sort-of higher quality, or higher grade, not on competitive nature, but merely on presentation. I'd create intricate graphics and mottos for the clan, to the extent that I must have spent many hours a per night working on them. Surprisingly enough, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and so now, half a decade later, I'm now studying for my Bachelor's in Graphical and Media communication / design.

I met HeyI and his pal, whom I've sadly forgotten his name over time, but he was a fellow moderator of his. Anywho, I met them both when Moderators were implemented in either late 2010, or early 2011, and I, being the tempered child that I was, instantly sought to befriend them so I had a shot at being a Moderator myself. Well, this obviously never worked in the slightest, not only because I was a depressive child with absolutely no sense of authority or of self-reflection and pervasive judgment, but because I had a knack for creating personal grudges with the admins and mods alike for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Yeahhhh, sorry about that. Anyhow, that never worked out, but I still stayed friends with HeyI. I rarely speak with him these days, but over Skype some years ago, he basically taught me everything I know about European history and geography, as well as some basic German that I eventually picked up and utilized in actual German classes, to the point where in 2014 I actually visited Germany for a couple of weeks. But, back to Afterwind: What he taught me, I used extensively in my many requests for, and utilization of, custom maps. I crafted the first true Great War map on AtWar, and it was quite popular in the early days of custom maps. I eventually made other maps, but I've no idea what they were, considering I deleted my original account.
