Might help bring out new clans. Lot's of other video games do this and I feel it would bring diversity of new clans instead of having 300 members in the same one.
Also you don't need more than 20 people in one clan really.
It is a big waste to have 300 members in one clan, since you only need a few to play anything competitively and that's what this game revolves around is it's competitiveness, why else would we have seasons with trophies right?

Most of their members are inactive, they just signed up and left for ever so no, useless, The Empire would be the only clan actually concerned, when it's useful to have so many members to fill scenarios.

Not everyone plays competitive for fuck sakes, some people prefer coalitions as a social group such as myself so stop trying to push this dumb competitivefag shit on the rest of us. A fair few of my ranks are now since retired but this clan serves as their final resting place, the last group of which they spent their time on this platform. Are we suppose to kick them since we can only have 20 players like you say?
But not everyone needs 300 people in one clan. And yes kick all the inactive ones. Bring it down to 20 nothing hard about that. I only brought up competitive and you are here starting a flame war. Why not post something constructive?

The basic point that it boils down to is that there is literally 0 reason why having large clans is bad for the general community. It is nice to have groups of players together in a clan that can chat and organize stuff together. Sure there are niches of players that would benefit from capping size of clans but its completely unnecessary. And on the topic of kicking inactives, why the hell is that a concern that you need to bring up? So what if a clan has inactive players who may come back for a bit every few months. Clans aren't some necessary part to any part of the game, they are just a fun additional way for people to be together. In the case of my clan, its a collection of more scenario-based players who often use the chat and forums to discuss/promote scenarios and gaming together. No reason to restrict us to only 20 or 50 people in the clan.

Also this entire topic is based on an incorrect premise: ''this game revolves around is it's competitiveness'', objectively speaking the majority of the community plays scenarios and they don't really play clanwars, in part due to clanwar scenarios being busted (though some players managed to find a way to host them).
