3rd Afterwind 1v1 Tournament Spring/Summer

General information:
This is the third 1v1 Afterwind tournament. The settings are going to change again, to prevent the same tournaments every season. However, Europe+ and 10k still seem to be the most popular settings, so it will not be changed. The initial countries will be changed to 2! Its not used very often and it gives both player more starting combinations, without using the same Strategy and first turn trick over and over again. Different rules, Different settings, More fun!

Current status: Tournament started. New registrations will be placed on the reservelist

Tournament type: 2 times knockout system:
This will be the same system that was used in the 2nd Afterwind tournament. It's a double elimination system.

Scheduling matches
Find you opponents in the seedings, and contact the player. If you have trouble with scheduling your match, contact Caulerpa or Hugosch. The player that is on top of the seedings, has to create the game.

Joining and seedings
You can join this tournament by posting a message in this forum or contact Caulerpa or Hugosch by a PM or in game. The registration will be closed on 21April and the seedings will be set on 22April. Also, that will be the start of the tournament. Players with the highest ranks get first picks in the seedings, to prevent a rank10 vs rank10 in the first round.

Default Match rules:
Game Type*: Quick game
Map: Europe+
Turn duration: 4mins
Starting funds: 10k
Maximum players*: 2
Joining until week*: 0
Victory: Capture player capital and hold for at least 2 turns
Game duration: 50turns
Rares: None
Initial countries: 2
+100 cities: On
Allow rejoining*: Off
Additional rules:
- It is not allowed to move your units into enemy territory within the first turn
- If both players doesn't want to pick first at the country selection, then the player that has been drawn first, has to pick.
- The match rules are only default: If both players agree on other gamerules (like other turn duration, map, initial countries or both players don't have premium), then it is allowed to change the default rules. Rules marked with * are non-negotiable
- If there are players with serval accounts; you can enter the tournament with just ONE of them. Entering the tournament with more accounts will lead to disqualification on all accounts.

Reporting your score
- Make a screenshot that will show who is the winner and post it here!
- When your enemy cheated (by attacking in the first turn for example); make a screenshot of that happening, and also post it here.

Current signups (64/64):
The signups are placed in 2 groups. The registration is closed, so this groups are definite signups are open for reserves now.

Just 5 places left for new players, be quick!

A couple of changes in the signup list:
-> I've split the total group in half. 29players in both groups (the split is at rank7/8). In the end we should have 32players on both groups for the picks.
-> The current picks are not 100% right, because new players can still signup and placed in a group. Some players can be moved to the first or second pick group.
-> If the split is somewhere between the rank 7's, then we check on SP who gets first pick and who gets second pick.

Ok seriously there is major flaw in this tournament, we in byzantia have played a good quantity of 1vs1 with this settings, Results? Ukraine is the strongest country by far and can't or is really hard to counter.

About all the request of changing the current rules:
Ukraine is too OP
Thomas, i promised you to come back at this rule after i tested it. My opinion is that Ukraine is strong (and really needs to get more expensive) but its not OP and can be enountered in many ways. Also, if i look at the recent vote about this, other players are thinking about this the same way. Therefor, the rules will not be changed and stay as they are.

Wallfucking neutrals shoudn't be allowed
Also i got the question about 'wallfucking' neutrals. I didn't have a opninion about this (i could agree on both allowing and not allowing) so we also voted about this. Also this vote shows that there is no need for a specific rule about this, because it can be prevented. Therefor, also this rule won't be changed.

The funds should be 15k
This is vote that started because some people wanted 15k. This was probably so its easyer to encounter Ukraine. However, as i stated before, Ukaine can also be encountered in 10k and also the voting showed that most players still want 10k. Therefor, also this rule won't be changed.

Country selection
I'm inspecting one last request for a change of the rules, witch is a additional one (Nateballer and Fruit brought up this idea):
The player that has first pick in the country section has to pick first (thats already like it is) but the player that gets second pick, gets first pick in the second country selection. Meaning it works like this:
- Player A choose first country
- Player B choose first country
- Player B choose second country
- Player A choose second country

I didn't do much testing on it yet, so i will get back to you asap, and before the start of the tournament. If you guys have a opinion about this, post it here

As i said before: Just like the last tournament there are a lot of complains about the rules. People just need to get used to it and find new ways to new strategies and tactics. When we really test it, it looks like the rules work fine. I'm trying to find rules that will satisfy all the players in this tournament and where most players can agree on. I'm sorry Thomas but i'm unable to meet all the request and wishes of all players. However, i'm ready to look at any other suggestion with a open view.

you're argument is invalid. By the way you speak you are not a sub-account. Ukraine > Turkey. Ukraine is hard to beat but it's not unbeatable.. but 90% definately not with Turkey

Turkey is a good counter to Ukraine if you know how to use it well. I still think a 5/5 Ukraine could beat a 5/5 Turkey, though.

I would just like to ask for clarification:

- When your enemy cheated (by attacking in the first turn for example); make a screenshot of that happening, and also post it here.

This includes wall glitching yes?
