#1 #2 Making the beginners room 0-4 After playing in beginners room for 2 hours, i notice that the new players are pure and willing to adapt, there is many world maps with proper funds and team games, once i level up to 4 and tried to play world maps i got constantly gang-banged by high ranks and late joiners butthurt because i beat them.

We're indeed planning to extend the time you can stay in the beginners room - perhaps even to rank 5. Can you elaborate on why you would want to remove the 'Abandon' button? Also, we cannot really stop a player from simply closing his browser. What we can do is count all quitting as 'game lost', but no sure how much effect it would have - it's just one number in the profile, do people even care about it? Also, there are some legitimate reasons to quit, I guess, that shouldn't count as loss.

It's a number that is held dear by many (including myself). As of today, I believe the "Abandon" is being improperly used and the most clear consequence is that the choice of abandoning a match is often made light-heartedly, without any loss, while players who keep playing are the ones who lose. There have been many suggestions, much more drastic, that I believe might have excessive consequences. I believe removing the Abandon is an intermediate step that may at least make leavers think twice about joining a match just to abandon it because a UN game starts. Also win/loss ratio would be truer than they are now - mine certainly would - . Sorry for my bad english.

Could we PLEASE have it so that we acutally lose half of our SP,rather then having 10 SP when you get 100 sp when you surrender.

Exactly. You cant take away the abandon button if someone legitimately has to leave.

Wow lots of butthurt, you people don't get it there should be no punishment for it, taking away abandon doesn't do anything, as Ivan said all it is is a number that no one should care about. I'd be completely fine with taking away abandon, I don't see any point in it really. It functions exactly the same as the surrender but you don't get any SP, the cost for surrendering? You get a pathetic +1 to your losses that doesn't mean shit. You socialists really think people should get punished for leaving a game? Really? It's not their fault that all scenarios are flawed in that it relies on all the players heavily. You wouldn't try to take some money from your family for quitting monopoly would you? Same thing here.

If players want to leave/abandon a game they will do that no matter what mechanisms are involved. You can take a look at dota 2 for example if you leave a game before win/defeat you cannot enter a new game for a certain amount of time and if you left two games your matchmaking priority will lower and you will only match other leavers or flamers or noobs. Yet all that changes nothing to the fact that there are leavers in every 4th or 5th game or players stay in the game but go afk or ruin the game for their team by suiciding themselves or similar things. The only REAL solution for that problem is to play with trusted and reliable players.
I strongly agree with you! I also think the whole w/l ratio think can be a problem because players even get afraid to lose 1 game not to ruin their 'perfect stats'. I think a good bunch of players would feel more comfortable to compete with others if they focus less on their stats and more on their game play. And that could be that case if everyone would his actual w/l ratio displayed in his profile..

I don't understand why people care about win/lose when we have elo and duels.

Because elo and duels are optionals. Win/loss ratio no. And who cares win/lose usually doesn't care elo and duels.

Good idea. I removed the won/loss ratio leaving only games won. You can still see the total amount of games and losses below in the medals and statistics, but it's a lot less prominent now. Hopefully it would help a bit, let's see what else we can do.

When you guys make the beginner room rank 0-5 can you guys also set a minimum rank limit to say 4 or 5 to play in the main? This will benefit everybody. Nobody will be using alts to make scenarios in the main room. Lower ranks who want to play scenarios in the beginner room will have to buy premium instead of asking for scenarios in the main. And since not that many people will want to buy premium just to play scenarios, it will result in a lot less scenarios being played by ranks 0-5 so they will play more EU+ and world map games so they learn the fundamentals of how to play atwar.

wow amok, i actually used the won/loss ratio to see who i should ally and who i should kick from scenarios, now surrender is equal to abandon. and this is coming from the alt of a rank 10 ;P but i really like that admins are getting involve in the community

Finally some changes! Now it's more encouraging to fight on to get yourself some extra SP before losing the game instead of demoralised players just quitting when things start turning bad for them.
