It would be cool to have a tactical map.

For example: you click on a pencil icon and it lets you draw on a transparent layer in top of the map.
Have the option to hide or unhide the layer.

And Only you and you allies can see it

I think he is talking about something which was featured in one of the Hearts of Iron III expansions where you can draw lines in the map in order to coordinate attack plans.

It would be cool to have, but in most Quick Games you would have to tell your allies to turn on the layer mode.
But even then, you spend more time at looking on your own moves than at drawing lines or looking at those your allies are pointing out.
Useful for Casual Games however.

I actually see it in a RTS based on Total Annihilation, but yes you get the point
Let me try to find a proper picture representing this suggestion.

Still, it would be convenient so draw a line or circle a town, a capitol, a wall, or a stack you want destroyed then typing in it's location and then your ally trying to find it if he's not sure where it is

Great Idea, it has potential to be abused like 99% of anything, people drawing random things across the map and all, but if it can be turned off it shouldn't be to bad. And I also agree it's more useful for casual game players because they can't really communicate with their allies so this is a new avenue of communication for them,
