The last days of the year 2013 are right ahead of us and we can look back on various eventful months since the launch of atWar and the selection of avatar and Mathdino as last years Players of the Year. Payment options and Protocoins, promotion and player recruitments, translations, new chat features and a help channel, a new strategy, numerous tournaments, contests and communty events and radio a radio station were particular highlights this year. And as there still is potential for more to come I am looking forward for future improvements and additions. Happy new year!
The candidate for December is Chess, a calm and friendly player from Victorious Secret coalition. Two months ago the suggestion came up to implement a Hall of Fame to praise player efforts beyond the already existing gold and crimson medals. Just shortly after, Chess took action and started a Hall of Fame thread on his own and maintaining it regularily. And here it is now! He also is one of the key contendors in our competitive scene, accumulating 1500+ ELO points, and participating actively in tournaments, competitions and CWs, he got a clean record as far as I can recall and he is reporting bugs and initiating game balance discussions.
Winner of Decemmber:
Congrats Chess, and thank you very much for helping us, and the AW-community!

I can vouch for this having firsthand experience as Chess is my team partner in AW's 2Vs2 tournament. He's a wonderful person to work with, his experience in the game has led me to a better player, I try to base my game on him but it's hard not trying to rushing . Whenever there's a conversation about who's the best player in my clanchat or in lobby chat the names that prop up are always tophats the mod but you never hear this guy's name up there. I think he's the best player in the game and hearing of the things he does like the record book makes me think higher of him even more! It's a privilege to work with such a good player like Chess and I think he deserves to win the award for this year too!

Congratulations Chess! Like Trooper said, you're definitely the strongest player in the game and you have my utmost respect. Tactician was my first candidate, Chess my 2nd and myself as the 3rd. May the most productive individual receive the trophy. Also thanks VRIL as always for this.
Huzzah!

Personally, I think they are equally good strategically. They kinda share THE top spot in the competitive scene. But Tops still is more experienced and more flexible, because he played many more games.

Congratulations Chess. I look forward to the next years candidates for PotM. Maybe a few new names will pop up just like this year.

I still think Chess is better but that is from personal experiences. Then again I've only seen Tophats play three or four times, so you could be right.
Also, I've noticed you typed in "PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014" at the bottom. Surely it should be Player of the Year 2013?
