Kek it's larger than the next 9 combined, they operate about 19 aircraft carriers, with it actually being a Congress Act that the Navy cannot operate less than 11 Supercarriers. Meanwhile the rest of the world combined has 9-11 aircraft carriers. And now Trump wants a 300-350 ship navy, although it will create a hell of a lot of jobs like during the Cold War since Reagan wanted a 600 ship navy.

World changed so much in the last 10 years old geopolitical rules doesn't apply anymore. That's why i say Russia is the number one superpower. It leads in cyberwarfare, espionage, it spread influence throughout the world, it leads in media coverage, it gets all the best business deals. Despite having military like South Korea and economy like Italy, it is playing geopolitics way better than America.

China is still not even trying, but their sheer size will simply win eventually, in the future, by having more people, money and larger economy than Russia and America combined. They will be able to pay everything and anyone and they'll simply win.

EU slightly pulled awayin the past few years but now the US is the one pulling away. Russia is the 2nd world power and it is not even close to US Military Power. China is a rising power and if rise continues than it will surpass russia and than USA. The Budget spent on the Middle east is to be expected in 16 years of war when the US spends over 500 billion every year

You again mix two things; military power and world power, as world power suits more into political role which is the most important.

Russia have smaller army and spending than America, but yet more political victories than America, and that counts, that's why nations use military in the first place - to achieve political victory, and yet Russia is achieving without military.

But even that is arguable, as US military power is only based on highly-specialized standing army and no reserves, while Russian Army is conscript standing army and large reserves of 20 million people. Russian standing army is there to train recruits how to fight and to protect the country UNTIL reserves are mobilized and sent to the front to fight the war - reserves are ex-conscripts who had 1-2 years of training and they are eligible for war until they reach 50, after that they are territorial units or as you call it 'militia', localized armed units to protect order, protect civilians and help out the army if it passes through the region.

America doesn't have those, to if war last few years and alot of people are lost in it, America will suffer from troop shortages as it doesn't have reserves.

i read the conversation i just pointed something out. US does have reserves just not as large. The Taliban was already there and in charge. and Leaving Iraq created ISIS tho destroying the country contributes. more political victory but russia has Nearly lost every battle for European loyalties since the fall of the soviet Union and now with this agressive china US allies in Asia are spreading too. But i will give u that russian army is more cost efficient than almost any other in the world. Question was most powerful country economy and Military strength have alot to do with Power.

Russia has a big deficit a recession and a poor country like Russia cant be considered as superpower.The only middle classes are located in Moscow and Saint Petersburg while China has already nearly 300-500 million of people considered as middle classes and USA has a great middle class. Middle classes are the most important part of a society and without it any country could considered as a developed country. If you aren't a developed country you cant be even considered as superpower or regional power.
Russia survives thanks to oil, gas and diamonds but this resources are not infinite.
Add to this 10 millions of alcoholics without good jobs which need help, 20 million+ pensioners and an enormous income disequality.
While 100 billionaires are rich thanks to a corrupt monopoly made by Putin the rest of the country is starving to death.
If you cant give food to your soldiers, how they will fight?

No one said its the best (it is for me personally), but number one superpower.

You see superpower as some orderly sunny nation with happy healthy citizens, i see superpower as someone who gets the job done.

Anyone who says China has no idea what they are talking about. The US is one level above superpower. It has no equal.
