I don't care about your victim-hood mentality, virtue signaling will not get you free up votes nor fix your reputation. Stop and think for a moment: you are facilitating the behavior of a individual who ruined the scenario for another 18 players (that probably waited like 30 minutes for the map to fill). You should care about the other 18 players and not just the wrong-doer, attacking the map maker or playing stupid so people feel pity will get you nowhere.

I was actually always on side of mapmakers.....

Anyways the current system is perfect in my opinion, gives the mapmaker enough power to make decisions that are actually meaningful. Notice how people with illegitimate bans without proof always get unbanned? It's because we have a good power-check with the unban thread. Troll and face the consequences, tough luck. It's funny how shit it was to play scenarios back before the banlist was FINALLY introduced, now we can usually play scenarios without having trolls constantly ruin the game, its awesome.

We've come a long way with this, it'd be a tragedy to abandon something that has helped our community so much.

Mapmakers should be able to retain the freedom to choose who can or can't play their map. It's not a matter of being "fair" since the decision of who should or should not be able to play is the right of the mapmaker before the players.

I think there should be ban on the maps. That hurts the community as a whole Atwar because it discourages participation in the game.

Got to love it when four alts upvote a shit idea because they are unwanted pieces of shit that nobody want playing maps so they cry to change the system.

Then a reasonable human being pms the person they where banned from and the problem is solved. I only ban people I'm 100% certain ruined the map on purpose because pulse over turns 80% of my bans anyways most of the time without even telling me.

This happens sometimes and if you make that case in the appeals forum it will be over turned iv seen it happen.

He is correct, moderation hostile actions twards vilifying content creators has all but seen the entire group destroyed. I said an entire year ago this would happen and everyone was just certain those map makers would be replaced.

Just make sure someone is watching the ban list thread daily and the problem is solved.

If you didnt do the crime you have nothign to worry about, only problem is that you have to wait for a while for someone to notice your post.

Ugh all this pandering to emotional nonsense and player "rights". I'm sorry but if a player trolls, intentionally ruins games or spams chats to frustrate people then they will lose any rights and be permabanned from hosted games. They cry to be unbanned and lie that they did nothing wrong only to have to be rebanned for the same infringements. Map bans are different, if players are illiterate idiots who cannot follow rules then map bans are fine and extremely justified. First infringement is six months, if it happens again, then perma ban. So cut the mercy crap. And to the player somewhere earlier whining about race, look we all know the kebab cancer that trolls this community, and the community has all the right to protect itself. If you are the being banned, then you are doing obviously wrong, so it is simple, if you don't want to be banned, then don't be a damn idiot, follow rules and please don't fricking troll the players with insults and crap spam the chat, and ruin games.

He left turn 1 in a scenario ruining it for the many, many other people. People seem to ignore this fact, they think of banned people as "victims" but forget the massive wasted time these trolls cause, the aw playerbase are the real victims and banlists have helped a lot to stop them. I was there and remember it, he did it on purpose right away;

Aetius, now that i got your attention, I can tell you what i need. Why have you ignored me, even after one year how come you cant forgive me. I was a noob back then, and i wasnt that familiar with the Atwar rules, you cant blame me for being a noob an not knowing the consequences. Now i fully understand that if i leave a game it will ruin the game for the rest, and it is awful to do that, since a troll isnt any help coz the people spend their precious time to even start the game. Also that you say i did it on purpose right away, i didnt do it on purpose, thats never my reasoning for leaving a game coz i dont want to troll on purpose and ruin the game. Its just stupid that a person would do that, and i never did it for those reasons. As i said in my other message, that it was because i was not familiar with the units, and i couldnnt understand how i can use them. Thats kinda normal for a noob to me frustrated at the gameplay mechanics coz he doesnt have an understanding of its effects or its purposes. Thats the only reason i left, not to troll but simply because i was a noob. Now that i changed i can fully grasp the understanding that if a person leaves it ruins the game for the rest. If you can understand where im coming from you would unban me without a doubt. Map-makers knew, agreed and even supported this position. What's the "new" point you are trying to make in this regard?

You guys turned it into the Justice System of Appeals where map makers have to act like lawyers and fight over a ban in court where a brown-nosing mod -- that has never hosted a proper scenario

Do you think that someone who only has had a couple months of experience in knowing the Atwar mechanics, knowing the game play, the atmosphere, and the flow of players, mind you this is just someone with a couple months lets say 1 or 2 months of experience. Do you believe a person with this kind of knowledge would be able to understand the everything and anything about Atwar. How could you, how could anyone! Well some people picks things up faster than others. this is the truth. But this player is slow to the rules of the community, and cant comprehend why they would care about understanding the rules, since they dont know the consequences, because they dont think much of it, BECAUSE they haven't been introduced to these rules! This person only knows the basics of the gameplay, the community is a whole another thing. But for the basics of the game play, its a new concept to them. No such thing have they ever experienced. Well this person joined a game, the majority of players are higher ranks, hes the only lower one, considered to be one of the "noobs", by what there reffered to in Atwar. Mostly ranks 7s, 8s, couple 9s and probably the only rank 5 is him. So hes a declared noob, by the rules of Atwar and the community. So this person cant be trusted with the responsibilities of a MAJOR country, HELL NO, its never been done, no way! So they allow this person to stick to a less important role, a role that doesnt do much, or is limited in power. Isnt such an eye candy, and can easily be overpowerd. Heck they probably didnt know this noob sneaked into the game. So the noob is out of the way, thats what everyone expects, thats what everyone wants. Now back to this noobs experience. Thus far everything you know about how ill equipped this noob, how much knownledge hes trying to remember, how much he already knows which is very little. So a noob finds out he cant do much, or he cant defend his castle, he cant MAKE DEFENCE LINES! What defence would a castle be without the precious defence lines! The noob gets frustrated by this fact, so frustrated his words before he leaves are "This sucks i cant move!". Now this noob had no intentions of how much backlash and frustation, how much anger, and dissapointment would follow his departure. What kind of noob WOULD, although some trolls do know, but if this noob knew the dissatisfaction he would kneel on his knees and beg for forgiveness. After almost 6, or 5 minutes this noob cant figure the damn mechanics. NOR does he care to ask around, since he problably doesnt know how to chat, or everyone is too busy. 5 minutes into the game, and he gets mad his turn of defence in turn one is GONE, which is the most important, he leaves at the one minute mark, and he leaves BECAUSE, he has a deep deep DEEP fear of higher ranks. Higher ranks are the monsters that live under your bed, higher ranks are the booyeman, they will haunt your dreams, the are ruthless, THEY FEED off of noobs flesh and bones, they would not think twice before exposing your weakness and make you disintegrate in a matter of seconds.... Ok now fast foward a year. or a couple months like 6 or so. This noob can still be considered a noob by some, but this "NOOB" no way. This noob knows to much, he knows too much to be considered a noob in that aspect of knowing the rules of Atwar. He must be held responsible! He knows what happens to rule breakers, he understands this. He can no longer be excused of the noob card. Now this noob has has a couple of rocky games, he underperforms, he dissapoints, he is so feed up with this role, he wants to be so much more! So in that day, he changes his name, to a name that didnt have much thought that went into it, but whats more important than the name, is the fact that on this day, This noob vows, or at least promises to never underperform to the best of his ability, to the best of his power, He wants to not dissapoint, and knowing him he doesnt want to troll or want to be considered one. He avoids to be labeled one, he just wants to be human and interact without getting a temper. This noob is very forgiving, doesnt like to be salty, and just wants to have fun, and learn more about the game as he progresses. He tries to prevent another mess up hes had, and tries to minimize the mistakes of the past. This noob later finds out. after he promised to rid himself of his horrible past, the past that haunts him, he can never escape it no matter what!! He can only reedem himself, only through redemption can he be allowed to grow. He doesnt want to stagnate his potential growth to compete with the community. He just finds out BAAAM! that ban he received from the maker of the map, is STILL there! He is at first suprised, doesnt think much of it.. But later he tries to message maker of the map, he writes a whole apologetic letter, SO LONG, and long as this one. One that will for sure he feels confident will make the maker rethink his decision. But yet another BANG! he finds out after all that hes been muted. So theres not WAY to reach him, its impossible he can never become a redeemer all HOPE IS LOST!. But hes no giving up yet, he pleads with many admins, or higher ups to message this map maker, passing on the message that he wants to talk, just for a little bit, how could one minute hurt! What has he got to LOSE!! Well he refuses, and he wont allow him to speak with him. Now he has little options, complain and complain about this, or make his case in a forum of Atwar. He makes this forum, and he pleades with the maker. But he doesnt hear from him in days, he just wants a response. He badly wants one, and he deserves one, because in reality this noob is me, and he just hopes his case that is brought can appeal to the maker that he wants to say he is really sorry about his mistakes, and only if he is given a second chance and ONLY THEN, could he feel at peace because who doesn't deserve a second chance...

It seems that you forget the fact lots of players are kids that play this game. Not everyone is older like me or many other players.. I sometimes imagine it to be.. but it is not the case.

Let me tell you a story. When I first started to play this game, I had no idea about rules... for a long time.. I just did whatever. One time a mod was in the game and I was trolling the entire game without even knowing about mods.. I ended up getting kicked towards the end. Other times I would join RP and spread all over the map. Any way, my point is, there are lots of people old and young that play this game. Many don't know about rules or where to look for them. Many times I see guys ask others to point out the rules in the map.

That screen shot of him leaving only proves that he left, that's it. It does not prove he did it on purpose or anything else, it just shows him leaving a few minutes into turn one. He could have said 'guys I'm sorry my mom/dad is making me log off or i have an emergency' it's very possible, this is just an example of anything that could of happened.. since all the screenshot shows is a guy leaving turn one.

You said he did it on purpose right away, which is false, since the screenshot shows otherwise. I am not sure how long turns are on that specific map but I am willing to bet they are 5 minutes or more... clearly showing he didn't leave to 'troll' you all. Is his act punishment worthy? Yes. Should he be punished for ever? No.

By the way, it would help if you unignored him. He has something to say to you here in this thread since you've basically ignored him and forgot about him, giving him no chance to even tell you his side of the story.

Most of the time people don't ban for life this is what appeals are for, if your a rational human and where wrong by mistake explain that to the creator and I'm sure an unban is imminent
